Background:	EDS1 is a cytoplasmic and nuclear lipase-like signal transducer. It is a keyregulator of plant innate immunity, mediating resistance gene-triggered andbasal disease resistance. EDS1 functions as a component of a signalingcomplex with PAD4 and SAG101 to activate salicylic acid signaling andprogrammed cell death.
